Obedience

“What do you think about a Christian multi-sports league that would unite churches across the lower mainland through sports and fellowship?”

I thought it was a great idea but how would we execute such a league and where would we start? How do you turn an idea from God into action? Don’t these thoughts sound familiar with many aspects in our life? It seems like it would take so much work and time; is it even worth the obstacles?

My resounding answer: absolutely.

My name is Caitlin. I am 26 years old and I cannot ride a bike or swim. I am definitely not athletic but I love Pentasport. Why? Because I get to experience the vision of unity. I may not be the fastest runner or have the strongest throw, but I leave the gym every week feeling like an all star. Whether it be from being a league rep or playing in the actual games, every encounter has taught me something new.

Before all this I did not know more than a handful of Christians from other churches. Now I’m in an entire community of brothers and sisters, serving alongside each other and building new friendships through Christ. I am so thankful to be able to serve in this ministry and witness all the brothers and sisters from different churches join and collaborate to further the vision. What a blessing this journey has been to witness God’s work first hand.

It has been so incredible to see this vision of a sports league come to life and grow so much, it really moves me to want to connect and do more, to not be afraid and press on even if there are trials along the way. With this I encourage each and every person who has an idea, vision or calling from God to not shy away and to pursue it all the way even if it is way out of your comfort zone. God pushes us out of our box to help us grow, so let him use you to glorify his kingdom and do great things! It isn’t “dreaming” big when God is behind it, its being obedient and fulfilling His will.

Play hard. Laugh harder. Shine brighter.
