Land Acknowledgement

PentaSport Ministries operates and gathers on the traditional, ancestral and unceeded territories of the Coast Salish peoples – including the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations. We say “traditional” to recognize how land was traditionally used or occupied by First Nations; “ancestral” to recognize that land is handed down from generation to generation; and “unceeded” to recognize the land not being turned over to the Crown by a treaty or other agreement.

We acknowledge the atrocities, hurts, and harms committed against Indigenous peoples, their land, and their way of life. We are committed to reconciliation; honouring indigenous perspectives, unlearning and changing our behaviours, taking responsibilities for our wrongs, and partnering with Indigenous peoples to build a more equitable tomorrow.

We recognize that this is a critical, complex, and continuous process. As a ministry with a vision to cultivate unity and transform communities, reconciliation with Indigenous peoples is central. We will provide updates on this page as we develop tangible and actionable steps towards reconciliation.
