Playoff Rules

  1. Dodgeball:
    • For dodgeball, game will be set for 50 mins. Team with the most amount of wins within that hour will win the head to head matchup. Breaks will be given at set intervals.
    • Every 3 games played will have a 1 min break. After 25 mins there will be a 5 min scheduled break.
    • If teams are tied at the end, one more match will be played as a tie breaker. Regular rules apply, winner takes all.
  2. Volleyball:
    • Game will be played as a best of 3 sets format.
    • First to 21 points for Set 1 and Set 2.
    • Final set – first to 15 points.
    • “Win by 2 points” mechanic is in effect, but will be capped at 23 points for Set 1 and 2 and 17 points for Set 3.
    • Points to win the set may be decreased due to time constraints. This is declared at the start of the set and based on the league rep’s discretion.
    • Teams do not automatically rotate when one team serves and scores 6 consecutive times.
  3. Soccer:
    • Game will be set for two 25 minute halves with a 5 minute break in between.
    • If teams are tied after the regulation time, the game will go into a shootout.
    • Shootout rules:
      • Teams pick 3 different shooters to shoot from the foul line;
      • Shooters may only take one step before the ball is shot, no run-ups allowed;
      • Team that scores the most out of the 3 will win; however if there is a tie, teams will continue to shoot until one team scores and the other misses;
      • Teams are allowed to choose the same shooter in the event of a tie, but cannot shoot back to back.
  4. Handball:
    • Game will be set for two 25 minute halves with a 5 minute break in between.
    • If teams are tied after the regulation time, the game will go into a shootout.
    • Shootout rules:
      • Teams pick 3 different shooters to shoot from the top of the crease;
      • Shooters may only take one step before the ball is shot, no run-ups allowed. Jump-in shots allowed for females only, still no run-ups;
      • Goalkeeper must remain on the goal line as the shot is being taken;
      • Team that scores the most out of the 3 will win; however if there is a tie, teams will continue to shoot until one team scores and the other misses;
      • Teams are allowed to choose the same shooter in the event of a tie, but cannot shoot back to back.
  5. Basketball:
    • Game will be set for two 25 minute halves with a 5 minute break in between.
    • If teams are tied after the regulation time, an overtime period of 1 minute will be played (possession with jump ball).
    • If teams are tied after overtime period, an additional overtime period of 1 minute will be played.
  6. Benchball:
    • Game will be set for two 25 minute halves with a 5 minute break in between.
    • If teams are tied at the end, one more match will be played as a tie breaker. Regular rules apply, winner takes all.
  7. Ultimate:
    • Matches are scheduled to end no later than 5 minutes prior to the end of the scheduled time slot regardless of whichever team has possession of the disc or the spot of the disc. The League Rep has sole discretion to shorten the second half of the match in order to meet this requirement in the event overtime is needed.
    • If the match is tied at the end of the second half, play will continue until one team scores.
  8. Flag Football:
    • In the event where Overtime may be needed, matches are scheduled to end no later than 5 minutes prior to the end of the scheduled time slot regardless of whichever team has possession of the ball. The League Rep has sole discretion to shorten the second half of the match in order to meet this requirement.
    • Overtime is played with consecutive attempts at a score. To determine who gets first possession, team captains will rock-paper-scissors to decide. Offence starts 10 yards from the opposing end-zone. They have only 2 downs / attempts to score. If they score, they can attempt to go for an extra-point conversion, (team will receive 8 points if the extra-point conversion is successful, 6 points if unsuccessful). The other team has a chance to match/beat the score following the same format. Teams continue until one team scores and the other does not match the score.
