Activity Leads and League Rep Roles and Guidelines

To accommodate the new PentaSport format, Activity Leads will be recruited and the existing League Rep responsibilities will be adjusted. Given the unique circumstances and changes, we will be hosting an online virtual training session as well as an in-person orientation prior to the start of the season.

They will be reminded that they may opt out of participating and volunteering should they be at higher risk of experiencing serious illness, come into contact with someone with COVID-19 or experience any symptoms themselves. They will be made aware of this Return to Play Plan.

  • Activity Leads responsibilities:
    • Plan and facilitate sessions which are a maximum of 1 hour in length with a short break at the midway mark. The same session may be hosted back to back in the same evening, pending facility rentals and registrations, with proper sanitization of space and equipment between sessions
    • Activities will be expected to be in line with the guidelines set out as per the PentaSport Return to Play Plan. Safety should remain a top priority throughout. New rules/guidelines can be made in consultation with other Return to Play Plans to help facilitate safe play. Some measures can include, but are not limited to: Focus on skill development, avoiding competitive play, limiting the amount of equipment used, increasing sanitization periods throughout, etc.
  • League Reps responsibilities (in addition to typical responsibilities):
    • Manage the check-in process prior to sessions (i.e. check names off the registration list, take and record temperature, remind participants to use hand sanitizer and social distance)
    • Assist the Activity Lead during sessions if required
    • Manage and sanitize equipment
    • Keep track of time
    • Facilitate the flow of traffic in and out of the facility as well as during the midway break
    • Help in taping off spacing (if required)
